Ruth Keiran and co. decided to raise money for charity by doing a 23 mile run with coasteering thrown in for good measure!! These brave ladies tackled the challenge on the 6th of July and chose TIC+ as one of their charities!

Before the event Ruth said:

“On 6th July, Anna, Ali, Claire, Jo and I will be attempting Man Vs Coast, a 23 mile route from St Michael’s Mount around the coast of Cornwall. It’s not a straight forward run, with water jumps, short swims and a few ‘surprises’ (apparently!). Our aim is to complete it in one piece!

We’re also raising money for Teens in Crisis, which supports young people.”

The challenge was really tough and through literal blood, sweat and tears they managed to achieve their goal and absolutely smash their fundraising target, raising an astonishing £3,650 (without including gift-aid!). The money will go to support children, young people and parents who need counselling support. Young people like Alex:

“During my teen years I seriously struggled with chronic depression and anxiety, as did many of my peers. At every step of the way I was fortunate enough to have had professional care and support available to me free of charge, whether it was counselling, medication or hospital care. As macabre as it may seem, without this privilege there is a chance that I may not be here today – but I am eternally grateful that I am.”

We are so grateful to Ruth, Anna, Ali, Claire and Jo for doing the challenge and all their friends, family and supporters for their generosity. Thank you!
