Online Text Chat

Hi and welcome to the Parental Support Advice Line text chat service!

You are important to us and we’d love to help if we can. Due to a high demand for our service it may not be possible to get through to our advisors straight away. If you’re happy to wait please stay online and don’t refresh or close down your browser, you’re in a queue and we will try to get to you as soon as we can. Or, if you prefer please drop-in later during our open hours which can be found on the parent support page of our website www.ticplus.org.uk. Please note we are unable to take chats with less than 15 minutes to closing time.

After reading the below, if you agree to our terms and conditions please click:

Before your chat begins we just want to make you aware of a few things.

Service information

This is a drop-in support and advice service. Due to  high demand we are unable to offer regular or frequent sessions.

The service is anonymous, to enter the chat we will ask you for a first name. You can use your own name, or if you prefer you can use a name you wish to be known by. This will be known as your ‘username’.

We will not be able to identify you or trace you when you access the text-chat service. However, if we are worried about you and think that you or another person is at risk of serious harm, we will talk to you about the need for somebody outside the TIC+ team to know. We take brief notes of each session, this along with any contact details you choose to give us will be stored securely.

Any non-identifiable information or feedback you give us is anonymised and used to help us evidence, promote and improve our service.

To protect our advisers they may not use their real names when they chat with you.

You are probably aware that we also provide counselling services to children and young people – our parent support advisors will not be able to share any information about any child or young person known to us.

Please read our privacy policy for information about confidentiality, data access and security before continuing.

You can find out more about our text chat service from our FAQ page.

If you would like to give us feedback or make a complaint there is a section on our website where you can find out how to do this.
