TWO HALVES MAKE A WHOLE
We are really blessed to have such amazing supporters. One such supporter is Simon who ran not one, but two half marathons with the money raised going to TIC+.
Simon says,
“Having signed up to run the Forest of Dean half marathon as a personal fitness challenge, I then agreed to run another with my sister Niki in Southampton, primarily for fun and for the pleasure of the joint venture. However, snow caused the first to be postponed and then Niki injured her knee, so the whole business has taken a scarier turn.
I am a Family Support Worker and have met many teenagers who wrestle with circumstantial challenges and difficulties, who are barraged by damning voices and who yearn to hide from what seems to be a painful world. TIC+ is a charity offering help and support to teenagers at critical times in their lives, skilfully enabling them to explore and find a way through such periods.
It seemed fitting to me that some chance changes to how I imagined my runs going should be an opportunity to raise some money to facilitate positive changes in the lives of young people, who are experiencing their own gruelling ordeals.
If each of the roughly 60,000 steps that I will be running attracted 1p of funding, I could raise £600.
Thank you.”
Simon smashed his target and raised a brilliant £645 for TIC+. Thank you so much to Simon and all his supporters.
