PARENT SUPPORT ADVISER

Introduction

Hi, my name is Tracy, and I have worked since 2016 as a counsellor for TIC+, working with children, young adults and families. I have a strong belief in the power of mind/body connection and also teach Yoga and Pilates. My hobbies are reading, and dog walks with my Spaniel.

As a parent you currently may be struggling with a child/young person who is avoiding social situations, whose behaviour has changed, who seems to panic in certain situations or is stressed over every little thing; you try your best to help, encourage and support them, but often you get the response; “You don’t understand”. For any parent, at times, any of these are challenging to deal with on their own.

Alongside my passion for working with young people, I have seen that the most beneficial and long-term changes occur when both the individual and the family are supported. I will endeavour to do this by providing an empathetic and non-judgemental space for you to discuss your concerns or just to talk, offering strategies and resources when needed.

Qualification and Training:

I hold a degree in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling, this approach allows me to work with different techniques in a solution focused way. I am currently doing my Master’s in Psychology and have worked alongside young people and adults both in my work with Tic+ and my private practice. I have received specialist training to work online with parents and have done post graduate training in working with children and young people.
